He owes a lot to his mentor, Walter, but life has not always been easy.Barbara Palmer comes from royalty, but she doesn't want people to be nice to her just because she's wealthy. She wants people to like her for who she is. She also thinks that attention should be given to others who deserve it, even if they are not as privileged.The story opens when they were each in college and they quickly grow close to each other. However, just when Barb thinks she's found the man for her, he disappears. Fast forward 6 years and Barb is on the verge of marrying someone else. Abby, her youngest sister fears she's making a mistake and makes plans for her to meet a cowboy, not realizing that it's Ben.What follows is a tender story of love found, lost, and found again with second chances. Will Ben step up and claim Barb as his love? What will Barb do about the upcoming wedding? Will Abby be successful in her plans to make everyone happy?The story is novella length, so the character development is basic, but sufficient to understand and stay interested in the plotline. It will appeal to those seeking something fresh and entertaining without much conflict. I find it stress relieving to read these type of stories because they aren't long and they are light hearted.Appropriate for all ages. Nothing offensive.My rating - 5 stars

Another Fun Read By Love2Read I received a free promotional copy of this book for an honest review.I have read several of Ms. Carmichael's books and have enjoyed every one of them. Weaving a story full of interesting, believable characters with a healthy dose of humor, is her specialty. This book is no different. It is the story of Barbara Palmer, one of six sisters with royal ties. After a failed relationship with Ben O'Shea in college, she goes on to live her life as it is expected of her. Even to the point of becoming engaged to Count Nikolai. Her youngest sister, Abby, however, thinks Barbara might need to re-think her decision. She wants her big sister to be happy and marry for love.Without knowing the past between Barbara and Ben, Abby plans a surprise getaway weekend for the bachelorette party at the O'Shea Dude Ranch. From the minute Barbara steps out of the limo and lands in the stock pond (there is that wonderful sense of fun Ms. Carmichael brings to a story), we watch her struggle with her sense of family duty, figuring out what her heart wants, and learning to trust Ben again. I was glad to find out what went wrong between Ben and Barbara the first time and see how an errant idea of not measuring up gets resolved. It would have been a disappointment to not understand the issue in their first attempt at a relationship.I truly enjoyed Barbara and Ben's story. If you're looking for an interesting, fun read, you will enjoy this one. And yes, it will leave you wanting to know more about the other sisters.

They were raised up in two polar opposite manners but they fulfill each other in ways that it seems like no one else can. Just when you fall into the story and love between the pair, Ben disappears and as most people could imagine, you'd want to strangle him for not being the man you thought he was. They were young but you longed for them to be "THAT" couple who made it. I love how Abby's sister intervenes - not knowing that she's taking Barbara back in time to meet her long-lost love, Ben. Abby has no clue that it's the man her sister once loved so I love how fate used her in the plan. Fate often brings us back to the unfinished things in life and it's up to us whether we offer second chances or put what once was to rest for good.I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.
