By Contessa I am in this book as "Margaret/Contessa," personal friend of K.M. Lessing. I share K.M.'s nonbelief in political correctness. Therefore, since the First Amendment gives us the right to free speech, I can say: watch out for Muslim internet predators. There are so many of them out there on the internet and they are specifically going after Western women. If you are a Western woman, you owe it to yourself to read this book. K.M. is trying to help women avoid emotional rape at the hand of Muslim men hiding their true identity on the internet. Many of these men have high positions of honor in the Islamic world and are living a secret life as an internet predator. She candidly discusses her own experience to help save others from the heartache that she's been through.We are used to seeing promiscuous people everywhere - on TV, in New York Times "bestsellers," in music videos, etc. But in K.M. Lessing we see a person who is not promiscuous. She says no to hook-up sex. How many times do we see people like this in TV/movies? Never. K.M. is an example to all of us. She constantly points out how Hollywood sells us a deficit lifestyle of alcohol and hookup sex - a lifestyle which can destroy us.Many people are reluctant to talk about the difficult topics in this book, but K.M. has taken it all on. Her words can help women develop their independence and can help men understand how their lust often hurts women. I admire K.M. for openly saying that porn is a deficit lifestyle. She describes how she feels - and how many women feel - about porn (disgusted and offended) yet few are brave enough to say it. She also talks about porn addiction, how porn has destroyed relationships, and how in this day and age, it behooves women to develop their independence and search for God's true love instead of waiting around for porn-addicted Prince Charming to come along.Here is one of my favorite quotes in this book: "Blood may be thicker than water but your female friends should be thicker than blood" (p. 295). That's what I've always believed. K.M. talks about how women need a network of women because most men will disappear when you start to look old. Who else besides K.M. tells us this truth?K.M. is not too proud to admit that she struggles with faith. She talks about The Grand Debate, the various opposing voices and messages that life gives us. Even though her life is far from perfect, K.M. never gives up searching for her wishes and never stops asking this question, what is the truth?K.M. didn't have to share her personal life with us. She could have kept it all to herself, like most people do. But she has chosen to publish her books to try to help the world. It is now our job to read and listen to what she has to say.
