However, don't be fooled. This book is more than a "how-to" of online dating. It is a book of reflection. Any man who is afraid to self evaluate his masculinity and approach to life in general, needs to steer clear of this book. However, if you are the truly masculine sort who can embrace the personal development aspects of this book, then buy it for yourself and your buddies. This book is a poignant, yet light-hearted approach to men owning their truly masculine persona in the online dating world. The reflective exercises were easy to do and overall this book is an easy read for a busy man on the go. Congratulations. Job well done. This is a must read for any man who wants success with online dating.

It's Me, Margaret (Yearling, 1970) is mentioned as a source of information and comfort. The 18-year-old editor recounts her story of her 12-year-old self caught unaware while waterskiing and dropped off, by her embarrassed grandfather, at a pharmacy where she found herself searching for sanitary products in an aisle featuring incontinence supplies. The women queried are as well known as Erika Jong and as little known as Nalebuff's younger sister. The earliest recollection is Henrietta Wittenberg's, remembering in her 100th year, of her worry in 1916 about sitting on a man's lap. The most recent story, from 2008, is Jacquelyn Mitchard's memory of getting the "curse" and her contrastingly comforting words to her sixth-grade daughter. Actually, I did have to put it down after a couple of hours to go to a friend's birthday gathering. I met my friend and several other girlfriends at a coffee shop. Soon after we sat down, I began to tell them about the book -- they were so intrigued and it began a beautiful discussion on first-period stories that lead into puberty and eventually how we feel about our bodies today. I then went home and showed my husband and a male friend of ours and that led to an open discussion about what it is like for young girls growing up and eventually led into how we will talk with our daughter in years to come. I have to say, I found both my husband and our friend reading the book throughout the night, they would even read sections of the book aloud. I never thought I would sit in a room with two men while we laughed with an eleven year old girl as she kept her "secret" and then were deeply touched by her courage surrounding her fist period. This book is another door opening on issues of sexuality, womanhood, shame, and value of girls and women that not only speaks to girls and women but to men as well.

Talk More By Deborah Freedman Books by Robie Harris and others are, thankfully, available on shelves to ably help parents explain and children understand the the birds and the bees; they are necessary, medically accurate, and attentive to the feelings of children as their bodies grow and change. But... if you were a twelve year old girl and full of questions you were too embarrassed to ask anyone, would you be all that eager to read those books, even if they were immediately accessible, and had very conscientiously been given to you by an adult you love and trust? Maybe. It would be a good thing if you did. But I think that stories are what we crave. And that twelve year old girls would much rather read ARE YOU THERE GOD? IT'S ME MARGARET. Or, MY LITTLE RED BOOK - a collection of stories from girls and women of all ages from all over the world, about their first periods.Of course twelve year old girls are not necessarily the only audience for this book, but I came away feeling that they are the ones who would relish it the most. It's the real scoop, as though told to you by your best girlfriends, your mom, your grandmother. Because the honest stories are both all the same and all different, they are reassuring. And all are stitched together and edited by Rachel Kauder Nalebuff, eighteen at the time the book was written, whose friendly and sincere teenage voice enhances the open tone of the book. And while the stories themselves are compelling, I think it is that openness that is the book's greatest strength. Because it invites and encourages women and girls to share their stories with each other, and most especially celebrates talk between mothers and daughters. It has the potential to open up a dialogue that might have seemed a bit uncomfortable or even daunting, and to ease the way into even more difficult conversations that will need to come later.MY LITTLE RED BOOK is clearly intended to be that opening. Readers are encouraged to share their stories with each other, and for the cyberly inclined, they are also encouraged to visit [...] and contribute even more perspectives. "Learn More" and "Do More" sections are included at the end of the book, and proceeds are being donated by the author and contributors to charities that promote women's health and education.

I have never been in a relationship before my marriage and it was arranged by my parents. As is traditional in a desi environment I really didn't want to think about sex, how I would approach my partner, how I would sweet talk to her and flirt with her.After I got married things started getting tense, my first time in bed didn't go too well. I decided to read up on some sex related stuff and how I could fix my marriage. I came across this book and decided to purchase it. Let me just say one word - Amazing.This book came to me at a perfect timing. I especially loved the chapter on tips in preparing for sex. That helped light the mood very well. Highly Recommend.

I am sure most people after reading title they will say "I know about sex" but believe it or not, you will never know everything about it sex just by doing or by listening to other.I felt the same before reading this book, but after reading my perspective about sex has changed to greater extent. I realized sex shouldn't be treated something as an activity for pleasure or to relax or to distress rather it should be seen and respected as a passion, to develop harmony and a seed of love.I am really influence after reading this book and I will definitely going to implement these suggestions.

I'm a USMA grad and will tell you that there are no "forced marches" in the middle of the night at Camp Buckner to "weed out the weak." Girls are not falling all over themselves to have sex with cadets. Instructors are not simply "administrators" of test material who are only one day ahead in learning the subjects they teach.This book is unreadable - I skimmed it and got angrier with each page. The author talks a lot about his own wisdom and strength and perseverance. But he introduces himself as one who wanted to get the free education and then put up with the Army for five years as obligated. He entered the academy with no intention of a military career - just work the system to get the education he says was delivered by incompetent instructors. All the training he so detested and immediately identified as bogus continues to affect him to the point he still has to "put my mind in neutral."Here's an example of the nonsensical fiction this anonymous author wants you to believe is true and genuine:From page 99 talking about Camp Buckner: "The training was designed to weed out the less strong cadets, both physically and emotionally. Daily 20 mile forced marches, some at 5 AM and some at 10PM were the most effective tools in embarrassing weaker cadets out of the corps. They fell like flies and needed to be medically evacuated. I was fine with it because of my previous experience doing 20 mile hikes with the Boy Scouts.""fell like flies." "had to be medically evacuated" - fortunately for the author, he was in good shape because of the 20 mile hikes when he was a Scout. Think of it - "daily 20 mile forced marches" A brisk walk is 4 mph. A hike with combat pack might average 3 mph so that, if there are no breaks taken, this author would have you believe the academy spends nearly seven hours a day on forced marches to "weed out the less strong." The academy designed a program, he says, to cause the weaker to "drop like flies" who had to be "medically evacuated."There is not a single page that I saw while skimming that was not the same kind of nonsensical ranting. The book can be summed up easily - garbage spewed by a person who is angry, anxious and suffers low self esteem. Apparently he thought spewing this nonsensical fiction would be cathartic. For his sake, I hope it worked.If you buy this book you will feel very foolish after the first page. If the author wants to challenge my assessment, I'll be glad to have the discussion - on one condition. Identify yourself.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Written by a Cynic - Stay Away By Go Army Beat Navy I was intrigued by the title so I decided to give it a shot. I regret the decision. The author is perhaps a bright individual but hopelessly cynical. As a fellow graduate, I could certainly relate to some of the experiences but disagree with his conclusions. Specifically, I thought the Honor Code was truly well-considered and thoughtfully managed in the mid-80's when I was there. I graduated with a true sense of Duty, Honor, Country and an appreciation for the process of building leaders of character. It was not perfect, but it was very good and I think sets an example that other leadership institutions have modeled over the years. Typing West Point in lower case throughout the book was sophomoric. Don't buy this book.

Interesting book for anyone who has attended West Point, thinks he might attend, or is interested in better understanding the origins of ”Army Think.” USMA is a first person account of the trials and tribulations of a young man from upstate New York attending West Point in the late 60s and early 70s. It includes all the details of the prevailing Army mindset and what happens when that culture is confronted by an intelligent liberal-thinker bent on surviving four years in what turns out to be decidedly not the “Normal College Experience.” (Spoiler alert: The Army wins) Written in an easy to read if not occasionally overwrought style, this first time author tells it as it was and, unfortunately, probably still is. In some ways WSMA is a bit like an officer’s Biloxi Blues for the Viet Nam generation. It’s a quick enjoyable read that will make you shake your head and occasionally smile. Good gift for that West Point grad.

By Trieditall My daughter is a huge fan of the Wimpy Kid books, and loves mad libs, so I got this for her (it would also make a great and affordable stocking stuffer). It's funny, and cheaper here on amazon, if you can even find it. It's 48 pages with titles like The school dance, and Roderick's School Report. There aren't many of the cute wimpy kid sketches in the book, just the same one on each page. What I do like, is on the back of each mad libs page, there is a list of the words you need. You can fill out this page if alone, then fill it in on the mad libs page; that way, you don't see the story that you are making up the words for.

This is a great way to review your parts of speech while creating interesting, entertaining stories in the process. Works well in a group setting, as well as for individuals.

You won't believe what George Washington did with a plunger By Middle Aged Nerd [[VIDEOID:1e0b4b5a99e335d3312ca9045c2a56d3]] If your child is a Diary of A Wimpy Kid reader, chances are he or she also has a strong imagination and sense of creativity. Put those to good use with this worthy addition to the Mad Libs amusing library of fill-in-the-blanks story books. Mad Libs are of course fun in pairs or group, but the titles aimed at younger participants also include an amazing modification to the traditional model - the ability for solo play.To accommodate solo play, each story is preceded on a separate page by blank lines to be filled in with nouns, verbs, etc. in a list so you can't see the story on the next page. Once you've filled them in you transfer them to the story page and enjoy.Although my son and I rate this 5 stars, it might rate 4 starts for someone not familiar with the Diary Of A Wimpy Kid books. You will lose just a little something of the context of the stories.

About the Author Natalie Phelps Tate, M.S. Ed., is an educator and counselor for students and families facing learning challenges. Disabled by an aneurysm at age 6, she overcame her own learning disability and earned a B.A. in Psychology from Bates College and a Master of Science degree in Educational Psychology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She has taught college courses in psychology, child psychology, and career decision-making. Ms. Tate has also counseled learning-disabled and special-needs youth and adults in career decision-making and college success. Natalie has been presenting on learning strategies, adaptive technology, self-advocacy, and transitioning at Learning Disability Association of America Conferences for the last 15 years. She created a curriculum for sixth graders on understanding and experiencing learning disabilities to better empathize with their learning challenged classmates. She has advised families and students in making post-secondary choices for an LD prep school and has taught career decision-making and psychology courses at a premiere community college. Natalie has first-hand experience in visiting and evaluating learning disability support service programs at many college and universities, including dedicated and vocational LD programs.

Darrell Brown has created a children's picture book to be proud of. With a sweet and sentimental story and vibrantly coloured illustrations that really bring nature to life, I'm sure this is a book that children will want to read time and time again. I want to keep this book to be passed on within the family as something of an heirloom but I've decided to buy further copies to give to my church playgroup and some local schools as this isn't a book which is readily available in England. As a teacher myself, I know the kids will love it and I want them to have the chance to read this beautiful book. Please write another book soon Darrell!

Her little brother By Kathleen Peifer I would recommend this book for preschool children who have that natural curiosity about everything. The colorful pictures were fun to see and talk about.

About the Author Bob Lee, also known as Doctor Bob Lee, began his career in 1979 after receiving his BA and MA in Communications from New York Institute of Technology, where he was a DJ for 88.7 WTNY Radio. Lee later advanced to music director, program director and eventually general manager of WTNY Radio. In 1980, Lee joined WBLS for a one-year internship before moving on to KISS-FM for his start in commercial broadcasting. He thereafter returned to WBLS where he has had a rich and diverse career. From 1986 to 1994, Lee was a DJ on the weekend edition of WBLS's renowned program The Quiet Storm, and for several years provided live reports on the morning show from various WBLS-sponsored community events. Every Monday through Friday on WBLS the "Doctor" spins today's R&B and classic soul from midnight until 5 a.m. Lee has interviewed such musical greats as Stevie Wonder, Patti LaBelle, Luther Vandross, Jaheim, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Kenny "Baby Face" Edmonds, the O'Jays, Wynton Marsalis, Whitney Houston, P. Diddy, and Jill Scott, among many others. He can also be heard on air every day with his Daily Dose series tackling health issues that affect the community. In addition to his on-air roles, Lee is the community affairs director for WBLS. As part of his community-based work, Lee has developed strong ties to many local and national politicians and public figures, including former President Clinton, former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, former New York Mayor David Dinkins, and former Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrión. As part of Senator Hillary Clinton's 911 initiative /Commission, Lee participated in a phone conference every other week on how to better serve the community during an emergency. Lee was also a panelist and speaker for a Healing our Community, "My Brother's Keeper initiative", which is President Barack Obama's multimillion-dollar initiative to boost young minority men and boys. Lee hosts the weekly live television program Open, which broadcasts on BronxNet, a cable television station serving the Bronx and upper Manhattan. The program features news and topics affecting the Bronx community and also treats viewers to new and established musical guests. Lee also appears frequently in the Harlem community as the host of live music and other events, such as Harlem Summer Stage and classic soul programs at the Apollo Theater featuring Regina Belle and Jeffrey Osborne. In addition, his strong ties to the community are reflected in his many charitable endeavors. He is involved in corporate speaking and promotional work for businesses with an interest in the welfare of the community. Lee also helps college students interested in radio careers by serving as a mentor for Table for Two, a weekly music program that broadcasts from WLIU 88.1 FM radio in Brooklyn and is staffed by interns from Long Island University. Among his other activities, Lee is a founder and board member of the Make the Grade Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that provides mentoring and aid to school children. By RWP “Doctor” Bob Lee, an on-air personality on WBLS 107.5 FM radio in New York City and the founder of the Make the Grade Foundation, has published a new book 7 Ways to Make the Grade in which he draws upon his own life experiences to offer advice to students, parents and teachers on how to motivate students to succeed. The autobiographical portions of the book also offer an interesting window into recent urban music history and Bob’s compelling personal journey from the ghetto to the limelight. It’s a good read, and an important book for those interested in helping kids to succeed in life.

By Shannon Built on the premise that "water is life", author Nancy Bo Flood has written an engaging non-fiction book about something many of us take for granted, water. Told in prose and poetry, water's story is engaging.Bo Flood's experience writing fiction is clear. She gives us a glimpse into the full essence of water, from the scientific to the religious, tackling critical environmental questions and laying bare the impact lack of water has on cultures where one must spend hours every day walking to get it. This book would be perfect for a classroom, a library, or as a gift to a child interested in science. But I wouldn't limit readership to children. This is a book everyone can learn from. Myself included.

It both celebrates and challenges, with global awareness of our human family and the importance of conserving the water that gives us life. It would pair wonderfully with UNICEF's A Life Like Mine, which includes a section on water and is listed along with other resources in the reference section at the back. Upper elementary or middle school readers will find this a great classroom resource for science, social studies or language arts. It could be aligned with many Common Core Standards.

By MARSHA BELL As a preschool teacher and lover of children's literature, I am in love with this book. The illustrations are wonderful with characters that both parents and children will immediately bond with and love. I also like the theme of these stories as a way of introducing both parents and children to the Chinese language and it's characters. In future books I would love the print to be larger for both the parents and children's benefit
