The first story, Punished on my Honeymoon, was not a favorite. I had to think about what I would say in a review. This story was 5 stars on chemistry and on his idea of domestic discipline 1 star, rounding out to 3 stars. The second story, Before the Wedding, brings about many emotions and unanswered questions about getting married and is it the right thing to do when you are having second thoughts. Very well told, and I give this one 5 stars. The third story, Under my Wedding Dress, offers a couple that has passion and fun, definitely 5 stars.Punished on my HoneymoonI am a fan of domestic discipline stories but did not feel this one measured up to DD standards of safe, sane and consensual. The whirlwind romance, quick marriage, and great chemistry were present in the story. But for him to announce on the honeymoon, I will punish you if you disobey me, trust me and you do what I say or else, just didn’t work, actually it set off alarm bells. Domestic Discipline is a lifestyle that has two people agreeing, setting rules and boundaries and most of all trust. Him buying her clothing and telling her what to wear, that wasn’t too bad, but forcing her to exposure herself to other men in public locations and call her out on it and telling her she will be spanked when she is shocked and hesitated, no, no, no. That isn’t domestic discipline, and it just didn’t feel right. The so-called spanking was more erotic play rather than Domestic Discipline.Before the WeddingComplacency is a killer for a relationship. Two people, living together, but lost the passions and now she is questioning, is it even love? Weeks before the wedding, so many questions, and self-doubt leave Emma feeling so uncertain about the future with Paul. After her bridal shower with a gift of boudoir pictures, she is feeling an attraction to another man, leaving too many questions. Can Emma call the wedding off with just one week to go? By Gigi's Reads I was gifted this book for an honest review.Caia Fox's Love and Obey combines stories of submission and love. Introspection and realization also play a part in the tales. As in some of her earlier stories domestic discipline highlights Punished on my Honeymoon. Before the Wedding follows Emma as she really examines her relationship before she marries Paul. Her doubts only multiply as she is photographed for boudoir shots and meets Kyle. Is a blah marriage all she should expect? In Under My Wedding Dress the blushing bride is supposed to be bare, but she chickens out. When the new husband finds out she has to be punished. But, punishment Neve hurt so good!

21 of 23 people found the following review helpful. Written for sighted kids... By Shazaam! This is a wonderful book!!! However....it gets only four stars from me because it is written explicitly for sighted children. I bought one for my daughter (she is sighted) and another for a friend of mine whose 8 month old little boy loves to hear stories (he is blind). But after reading it, it is not for a blind child that is too young to understand they have a difference, and I actually may not yet give it to my own child because it describes being blind as scary and how her relatives thought she was "a monster". It begins with "when I was little I was just like you" (and goes on to describe how much she loved to see different things). So obviously, it's not a book for the blind child, because when they say "just like you", they're referring to only sighted kids. Also, my daughter (2 1/2) is too young to understand that the monster they're referring to in the book has a different meaning and that times were different back then. She'll understand later, but especially with a blind friend, i will probably just edit the story as I read it to her or just wait until her understanding grows a bit.The rest of the book is amazing!!! There is an actual Braille alphabet and some wonderful inspiration for all (sighted and not!) I just really wish it wasn't written in such a way to exclude verbatim story telling to blind children. I really thought it would be the perfect gift for them, but it's not.

Amazing Story of a true hero Helen Keller By Rachel Patterson I heard about this book from the author on the radio the other day and it sounded brilliant so I bought it and thought I might give it as a gift to my son's first grade class. I received the book yesterday in the mail and my 3rd grade daughter read it before I even had a chance to look through it. She was so memorized by the story that she insisted on reading it to me immediately. It was such a well written book explaining the life of Helen Keller and all the obstacles she had to overcome. Now I have decided to give it to my daughter's 3rd grade teacher because I think that 3rd graders might be more effected by the story. Can't wait to try another book written by Mr. Meltzer.

What an amazing book for kids (and adults) By WWO I picked this up in the morning as a small gift for a teacher and her class and ended up reading it myself. What an amazing book for kids (and adults); it really connects Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan's humanity to yours, which is a remarkable achievement for any book. Without giving away too much, some of the pages are emotionally hard-hitting in a very good way.

I stilll can't (well sort of) believe that VENGANCE HAS A COUSIN CALLED SLAUGHTER???!!?? AND HE WAS DEATHBRINGER'S SECOND VICTIM!!!! Also, BLISTER IS ALIED WITH THE MUDWINGS??? I thought that they were only ever allied with Burn. I mean, according to Wings of Fire book 1 the Dragonet prophecy, Burn claimed them first. Tui T. Sutherland, are you feeling all right??Another thing I noticed (which is a funny coincident) most of the NightWing dragonets never seem to have one of their parents, which as far as it's been mentioned is commonly the father:- Deathbringer- Moonwatcher- Fiereceteeth- Starflight (his mother, Farsight)- FatespeakerOverall I LOVE LOVE LOVED this book like Kinkajou!!!!!(although, the exerpt from escaping peril didn't really hook me)

He has checked them all out of the library at least 5 times each, but when we saw the Winglets on Amazon he had to have them. This series is a great read for kids with a love of fantasy. He loves the characters and talks about them all of the time, like they are his friends.

He has truly moved past the no-God angst that plagues most of us. This book calmed me down, caused me to redouble my efforts to be kind to my wife, and gave me new hope for our relationship.

My wife and I are one of the interbelief couples featured in the book (I'm an atheist, she is a Christian). Author, Dale McGowan, did a fantastic job capturing our story in a way that is interesting and accessible to others. His writing style and insight are quite engaging to me as a reader. The tips on getting relationships to work between people of different beliefs are spot on. Frankly, this book could save your marriage, or put a failing relationship back on track, or just help when first meeting a potential mate with different beliefs. That is definitely worth the price of admission.

Dale McGowen treated us with tender care, a lot of respect and let us speak for ourselves.I am a Christian married to an atheist, with kids and I wish someone had put this book in my hands at the start of our journey!! Every page is full of the hope I needed starting out. In it I am reminded that the problems in our marriage are not insurmountable and our marriage is not doomed to failure.I highly recommend this book. While it is written especially for those in an inter-faith relationship, it would also be good for someone who has a loved one in an interfaith relationship. It is perfect for the believer and non-believer and gives a great perspective.

From an American point of view, I totally felt bad for Ivan and his family, having to go through so much turmoil. I grew up in the 70's and 80's myself and being an American was so much different. There were times when I was reading that I thought wow, did that really happen over there? It's difficult to imagine how hard it was for his family, but on the bright side they did finally get to the US. The author did a good job telling his tale, it kept my attention. I was really into this story, I wanted to find out what happened next to Ivan. Did he go to college, did he pick a career, did his sister and mother's life get easier? I hope there is another book chronicling the next phase of his life.

By Trina Immigrants by Ivan Presley is a very inspiring and moving fictional tale based on the life story of the author. As someone who reads a lot of fiction, I truly believe that the best stories come from real life. Ivan Presley is a brilliant storyteller who made me feel like I was part of his story as I was reading. I felt very deeply for his family while reading of the many trials that they had to endure to fulfill their dream of immigrating to the United States. I highly recommend this book!

Engaging By Elizabeth Norris The majority of the diary takes place well before the civil war begins, and it is fascinating to see what the daily life of a young girl was like. It begins when she's 10 years old, and ends when she turns 30. Much of the story revolves around her puritan grandparents and little sister who she lives with, and her school and church life. The descriptions of living through the four year war pull at your heart, and the people she meets throughout her life are often names you recognize from history books. Additionally, she's easy to like due to her open minded attitudes, a rarity in diaries and letters from this time period. After finishing the diary, I felt like I had made and lost a friend in those few days of reading. Well worth the read.

Great historical resource--author of diary writes engagingly By Cincy Yankee The author began this diary as a ten-year-old girl in the 1850's, and I enjoyed the window into her life as she journaled the daily events of her life--from her little sister's shenanigans to her grandparent's strong faith. Caroline chronicles the subjects she studies in school along with the games she plays with her school mates--making this a great resource for living historians. Even her younger entries are quite well-written, and she does a lovely job of making a reader of her diary feel as if she knows her family.The author continued her diary through the Civil War, and readers can see a change in the tone of Caroline's entries as her diary documents home-front fund-raising efforts and the names of local boys who are killed in battle. As an adult, her entries become more scarce, but the few later entries give the reader just enough of a chance to follow the author into adulthood for the book to have a conclusion.This Kindle edition was well-formatted; I did not encounter the sort of editing problems I sometimes find in public domain e-books.

16 of 17 people found the following review helpful. Great Art, Great Message, Somewhat Inconsistent and Confusing By mj Love the book and the premise but I was a little confused by one of the pages. Amazon didn't offer a "look inside" option for this book like it did for the author's other book, A For Activist. Because I liked the art and style of A for Activist so much, I decided to just add this book to the order despite not being able to see inside.Not all the pages have the number clearly printed in a predictable way for children to recognize - something I initially overlooked when I received it because it seems challenging to hunt down the message on each page and probably useful for them to recognize the many different forms that numbers come in. Upon further inspection, there are just several very confusing aspects of this book. While I love the art, it is definitely not your standard number book.The number two page references "neighbor friends" but there are 6 people on the page (all mostly in groups of two, all of them potentially "neighbor friends"). Two kids playing in the street, two parents, two babies in strollers. There are also two cars, two trees, two shadows, two birds.The number 5 page has 5 chunks of chalk clearly piled right in the foreground of the picture, under the text. But wait! There's one more chunk of chalk in the child's hand. That makes 6 chunks of chalk on the page. And this will be important later.The number 7 page is the most confusing of all. The text reads "Seven bikes and scooters and helmets to share". I have a lot to say about this page. First. There are 5 bikes and scooters in a pile with one helmet. So you've got 6. But there is also a kid away from the pile riding a scooter and wearing a helmet. So add those and you've got 8. My husband and I have tried and tried and we just can't get a total of 7 anything on this page. I also think it's worth noting that if there are x number of bikes and scooters "to share" there should be that number of helmets as well but I'm more concerned with the fact that there's not a total of 7 things on the number 7 page. I will include a picture of it for your review.The 8 page has 8 picket signs. These "signs" are blank pieces of paper. Just 8 white rectangles situated throughout a mass of people in the foreground of the picture. If you were only looking at the foreground, that would be fine, but all the pages in this book leading up to this one have taught us to hunt down what we are looking for including sometimes stretching the imagination or including things that we did not perceive to be part of the picture. If you look in the background of the image, there are several people with actual picket signs that say things. So there are actually way more than 8 picket signs on the 8 page.Overall, I give the book 4 stars because I value the art and the conversation-with-child aspect of evaluating what is on each page but I feel like as a fundamental numbers book, it is lacking in clarity and consistency and I just couldn't give it 5 stars.

I particularly like the pot luck spread By DMS Bright and interesting pictures accompany one to 10 objects to count found when people in a community band together. I particularly like the pot luck spread. Right now my 18-month old granddaughter is especially concentrating on learning numbers but I can see that there is more to learn about such objects as a piñata, after she has mastered counting so the book will be valuable for several years.

I have Innosanto's A is for Activist and was very impressed with both the text and the graphics. Counting on Community will not disappoint those who already have his other book, and for those who don't have it, I highly recommend it. I like Counting on Community as it not only introduces numbers to a small child but the text and graphics bring up a lot of generative themes, in the spirit of Paulo Freire and allows me to ask questions of my grandsons about what they think it means. I believe critical thinking starts at a very early age, and this is the sort of book that can be an excellent tool in developing those sorts of skills.

Brilliantly Written and Researched By Sally Thibault Alina Frank addresses an issue that faces many women, and that is overcoming fear, self doubt, shame or self loathing especially when it comes to talking about and enjoying a fulfilling sex life. Still a taboo subject for many, Alina invites the reader to question their own sexuality and examine any limiting beliefs that could be holding them back from a richer deeper, more intimate relationship. Using the transformational, evidence based technique of Tapping, the author shows how years of painful memories and limiting beliefs can be changed within a matter of moments. This well written and well researched book maybe the saving grace for many couples whose sexual desires are out of synch! A must have resource for any practitioner! Brilliant

By Jeanne Andrus Working as I do with menopausal women, I know that lack of sexual desire is a common problem for midlife women. Many of the women I work with are aware that it's possible to change that but don't have a clear path to rekindle that desire. This book provides that path and Frank describes how to take that path.

A brave foray into a sensitive topic By G R Moline This book is a welcome relief, as it wades boldly into the territory of diminished sexual desire - an area rife with taboos about talking about it, leaving many women feeling isolated and unable to find the support that they need. While there are now many books on the market focusing on the EFT method, this is to my knowledge the first that applies the method to this very sensitive and important issue affecting many women. Bravo Alina Frank!

For one thing, it was fun to read a steamy romance about a married couple. I wasn't sure what to expect, since so much of the fun of romance is the newness of it all. But with Alyssa and Ian, it was perfect! The characters are fun and super sexy, the blurb says BDSM elements... which is not always my thing... but in this case, it was just enough to be hot without being hardcore. The snarky bartender was a huge plus and I just adored the whole tone, speed, and sexiness of the story. I'm excited to see it's part of a series, and can't wait to work my way through the alphabet with this new author!

The characters, Ian and Alyssa, have only been married 18 months but already their high-powered careers have interfered in their lives to the point that together time, including sex is non-existent! Alyssa is worried and not sure what to do. A snarky bartender basically tells her to do what she and her husband both do for their clients for themselves - problem-solve! Alyssa and Ian have always been competitive so their agreement to finally go on their honeymoon, is marred by their opposite choices. They decide to hold a competition of the sexiest half-day. Whoever's is sexiest wins or whomever breaks first loses. It's hilarious fun! I can't wait to read more by this author!

Both super competitive, they make a bet on who can plan the more racy day together to help reignite their relationship. Winner gets to plan their long overdue honeymoon.The competition was hot. You wanted to root for them to find their way back together. The snarky bartender cracked me up. And the whole story was just great.I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

By Carrie Williams I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.This series just keeps getting better and crazier and hotter with every turn of the page! Fair warning - this one has a cliffhanger-ish ending that would've driven me bonkers if I didn't have the next book to *immediately* dive into. I think no matter what, though, how could you *not* dive right into the next and last of the series, right?! That being said, this was another stellar paranormal read with all the sizzle you could ever want.Jax and Sam and walking a tightrope at the start of this book. They each had to make sacrifices and deals with Abel to survive the last book relatively intact, but that has left them struggling in the confines of "friends." Neither is really sure what happens if they break the rules, but it is probably pretty bad. As if that wasn't hard enough, Jax still has a psycho brother roaming the world who always manages to mess with his semi-happiness. In this case, he shows up under the guise of helping and hooks Sam up with a magical ticking time bomb. Oh, and turns out that Sam is now the most coveted prize among angels and demons, which risks her life even more.We all know what happens when people try to kill Sam - Jax does bad things to them. In this book we really get to watch more of the Azi/Jax interaction and realize exactly how blurry the line is between them. While Azi might be a royal who has live oodles of lifetimes, he just might be becoming more "human" during this life with Jax. Sam and Jax's epic love story might just teach an old demon a thing or two. All of this is contingent on Azi's old flame not resurfacing along the way. That would get awkward (and it does).This book delivers a steady stream of twists and turns, action and romance (do I even need to mention their chemistry again?), and some truly wonderful characters. Seriously, I dread the day that I don't get to visit with these characters anymore. They are all (even Azi) pretty amazing. With a bit of a cliffhanger at the end, I highly recommend loading the next book onto your kindle immediately (when it comes out)!

This book is SO close to perfection in my mind that I don't even know what to say. It had the right amount of everything: tension (dirty mind, you can go there), mystery, frustration over the mystery, action. It was a beautifully executed with plot twist after plot almost-impossible-problem. My only complaint: It was TOO short.Jax was still god-like and amazing this time around. I continued to love his protectiveness toward Sam. It was all rainbows and happy endings until it wasn't because the action picks up in the first three pages and it all goes to cloud nine from there.Sam was very courageous and thankfully was still sporting a back bone to boot. She endured a lot in this book and from the looks of the minor questions-left-unanswered-ending it doesn't seem to be getting better any time soon.The ending was EPIC. By the last few pages I didn't know who was who where Jax was concerned. Heck, I don't even think there was a way to know. After all Jax and Sam have been fighting for that ending was very harsh and undeserved on both their parts.This book does include the first chapter of Book #3 which I haven't read on purpose. This book was worth the two year wait with a minor cliffhanger, imagine my mental state if I read the first chapter of the next book only to receive it in the next two years. I don't want to know, so I'll be happily awaiting the release of Book #3 without splurging and reading the "extra" chapter.Favorite Quotes:"Not once during all of it did I consider the possibility of failure. Of surrender. That wasn't me. I didn't quit.""Hope was dangerous. This book continues the story from the first book, Ruined, and should not be read as a standalone. The first book in this series was released in December of 2013, so to say that I have been waiting for this one to come out for what feels like forever would be an understatement. After reading this book and getting the author's note at the end, it appears that she had some extenuating circumstances that kept her from being able to get this book done any quicker and I was glad that she let the reader know what had been going on. I really hope that we don't have as long to wait for the next book though as I am not sure that I can handle two years between books again.Jax Flynn is a descendant of the world's first murderer, Cain. He has a demon living inside him and though his brother Chase chose to embrace his demon, Jax has spent years trying to fight his. In order to prevent horrible things from being unleashed on the world, Jax was forced to sacrifice the only thing that meant anything to him, the girl he loved. Samantha Merrick might be human, but she is special. Just as she finally gets Jax back, they are forced to live with a deal they made. They can look, but they can't touch. The harder they try to fight it though, the more they begin to cross the line. But when an enemy once again threatens everything, Sam and Jax will have to make the choice of either killing the demon Malphi or Sam dying. While the choice seems easy, Jax's demon Azirak will do whatever it takes to ensure that Jax and Sam don't kill Malphi.With Embraced picking up right where Ruined left off, I was anxious to see how things would be for Jax and Sam this time around. I still liked both of them a lot, and I was glad that they hadn't lost any of their fight in this book. The chemistry was as strong as ever between them, and it was obvious how hard it was for them to fight what they felt for one another. Unfortunately these two just can't seem to catch a break. Just when it appears that Sam and Jax have a chance at something, things come up that tear them apart again. I was so hoping that things would be different this time around for them, and they had even more obstacles this time it seemed.Overall, I did like seeing these characters again and I was curious to see what would happen next for them. After the way things ended in the first book, I thought that we would get a conclusion of some type here and I was more than ready for it. But this one again ended with a cliffhanger and another book coming. While I enjoy reading a series and continuing the story if there is enough to warrant more books, I do worry that this one might be getting to the point that it is continuing when it shouldn't. This book was very fast paced and a lot was going on, but that was also a bit of an issue for me with how much was being thrown at not only the reader but also the characters. With so much going on it can be hard to keep track of all the players and the complex world, and I felt that there was a bit too much here at times. Just when one thing would be somewhat resolved, something else would pop up. It felt a bit like the author was throwing everything and the kitchen sink at Jax and Sam, and after awhile my interest started to wane. While I do enjoy twists and turns, I don't like to feel like the characters are fighting such an impossible battle that they will never get there and unfortunately that is what seems to be happening here. I will most likely read the next book, Released, as I want to see this one through. But I have to admit that if it takes anywhere close to as long to release as this one did, I will probably give up at that point. It was hard enough to remember everything that happened in the first book this time around, and with this world being so complex large gaps of time in between books is not something that helps hold my interest. While I think that this world is unique and different, I would recommend reading in order and possibly waiting until all are released or at the very least a reread before starting the next installment.**Complimentary Copy Provided by Publisher**
