By Tiffany Taylor I want to first say that this story starts off in a pretty cute potential-filled way. The illustrations are colorful and neat, the wording isn't too complicated and redundant, and the storyline is one that kids would be interested in. But I think it's quite unfair to label this a book with no product description clarifying that it is only a chapter. As a mom, I collect free books all the time from Amazon for my children, but as a poor mom, I can't afford to get my child all amped up about a book that I have to purchase all the remaining chapters for. Given that it looks as though there are only 5 chapters and one is free, it's about a $4 book and isn't badly priced, but that should be somewhere in the description so that people know. There was also a point where 8 pages in a row were the same illustration with only one piece of it replaced in each, so that was disappointing. Overall, I do think the story will be a cute one when it is all together and I hope I get the chance to read all of them. My kids are mostly girls and the cat looks like our cat, Dusk. My family LOVES libraries as well and frequently visit my mother's library, so this story is something my kids would be able to sink their teeth into and relate to. So I do like it, but given the repeat illustrations and the misleading description, I'm gonna have to say it's "okay".*Product received in exchange for honest review.

Unfinished story prompts the reader to buy part 2 WITH NO PRIOR WARNING!I read this to my grandchildren only to find it was unfinished. We all did not enjoy this marketing ploy! Skip it.

When she goes to the library, she finds a book that appears to be a magic portal between England and North Carolina.The portal releases animals from the Magical Zoo and into wherever the book is opened.While I enjoyed the art in the book and the general concept, there were a few things that bugged me a bit. Maybe it's because I'm an adult, but let's talk about those things:1. There were a few times where the writer appeared to want to be very descriptive, but had to reel it in because he realized that he was writing a children's book.2. The editor seemed to miss a few things like "Sally read the title to Milkshake, and her pet was also interested." This makes it sound like there are multiple animals involved here.3. Why is it that Sally can see the animals coming from the book, but not the light that shined from it? How do we know that Milkshake could see it?Lastly, the book ends with her chasing some guy who also came out of the book and, if we want to know what happens next, we have to buy more books. Sure, these are only a couple bucks a piece, but why end a book at the beginning of the story?Overall, I like the concept behind the book as well as the artwork, but I feel like the actual story needs a bit more editing and planning.
