By YA Book Madness Blog 2.5 Stars***I received this book as a gift in exchange for an honest reviewREAD THIS BOOK IF:You’re looking for something quick and entertaining (this is just over 100 pages)You’re a sucker for the classic vampires vs werewolves conflictYou watch The Vampire Diaries, Bitten, or TwilightPROS:Secondary characters were full of personality and quirks, so much so that it outshone the main characters. I found myself leaning towards characters like Brent, Bevin, Carter and even the vicious Sheridan.The vampire in the woods is intense. That scene was a total adrenaline rush made of terror and attraction. It was PERFECT. He’s deep, talks about serious things, thinks things through before he speaks, and that sort of broody, flirty charm is there to sweep you off your feet. He’s not merely looks, it’s his sincerity, his willingness to listen that makes him attractive.Just short enough to leave you hungry for more and long enough to suck you in.CONS:The plot was predictable and lacked any twists or surprises. What should have been a big reveal was easily called from the beginning of the story or if you read the synopsis (I didn’t beforehand).Regan and Charlie were hard to root for and even harder to get to know despite being told from each of their POVs. So much focus is placed on the situation that the tiny details that make their personalities were missing. Their preferences, how they feel about basic things like clothes or music, anything like that was strangely absent. It’s like they had no life before this moment in time and nothing to attach them to the world. Charlie and Regan are crazy oblivious to what is right in front of them. It’s all sorts of frustrating.

I must tell you that it has been a blessing and a curse! It's a blessing because the book is AMAZING! Bitterroot part 2 quickly jumped to the top of my WANT list. Unfortunately it also meant I've been waiting way longer than any of you who buy it now! There was nothing about this book I didn't love (except maybe the fact that its a 3 part novella we have to wait for each installment, but that's because its SO GOOD!) The writing from two sisters POV's by two authors in one book is incredible witty, and surprisingly seamless! The authors writing styles complimented eachother beautifully, and you could read it and never think it was written by more than one person. The characters were easy to fall in love with. The plot was clever and something I've never read before. I can't wait to find out how their journey ends! If you hate waiting for books, maybe wait til all 3 are released as this series is definitely addictive and will leave you dying to know the end. If you can stand the short wait, buy this book now! I guarantee you will love it!

Bittersweet Rivalry under the full moon By Nereid This story is about two sisters who have been thrown together after many years and have to learn to trust each other and decide if that familial bond is worth fighting for. It leans towards the Nature Vs Nuture theory as both women are werewolves yet their lives could not have been more opposite. Charlie having grown up among humans is desperate to be a part of a real family and having a sister who know what she is seems amazing yet they are both reluctant to trust each other with their darkest secrets. Told from two different perspectives which can be confusing at times I felt this added to the story as you can get inside their heads and see how differently they viewed their interactions with each other. Regan seems so guarded and cold at times that I found it hard to like her while Charlie was so out of her depth that I sympathized with her plight being thrust into a strange world where she felt like the enemy and the enemy seemed friendly in comparison to her werewolf pack.I am curious to see where this story goes and although at times it was predictable it was still inviting enough for me to keep turning the pages till I reached the end.
