I always tell myself I’m only going to read one of the stories. Then I read them all at once. Oops. These were all fantastic. I loved that the stories were connected, yet separate. Sometimes it bothers me when they intertwine too much but this was a great balance.GHOST OF 913This story was absolutely darling. So many of these stories are quick and you worry about the future a bit, but this one was a slow burn and I liked it. The characters were very believable. I understood the decisions. Sweet, sweet characters.BUTTERFLY KISSESSometimes the stories with a lot of assumptions and accusations turn out well, and I guess this one did too but it was my least favorite of the 3. I actually liked the main guy, but the girl kind of irked me. I felt like she was a bit of a contradiction. She claimed to be level headed but all I saw her do was make emotional decisions. Ah well. The story was worth reading, but not my favorite.DREAMS COME TRUEThis one was my favorite. I will be honest, I roll my eyes every time I start a story about the rich and famous boy who falls for the normal, yet gorgeous, girl. But this one had quite a bit of depth and the famous thing really wasn’t a conversation topic after we got to know the characters a bit more. They were honest and open and I loved it.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. I love this series By Sharon Landis I love this series. The Mariposa Hotel is the latest in this series of Tangerine Street. The three stories in this book, are fun and sweet. As with all novella's I wish the stories were longer!! One of the interesting things about this book is how each story has characters who assume things about each other and the only thing to straighten it out is a face to face chat.The Mariposa is a hotel that sits on the beach which makes for some fun scenes. It also has a magic wishing well that grants wishes immediately.In the first story Ghost of 913, one of the maids working at the Mariposa finds a room seeming to be occupied by a ghost. I like how the two characters start to interact with each other without having even met. I like how Mari is determined and has things she wants to do and is a strong girl who has seen some of life and has brought herself to a good place.The second story Butterfly Kisses Ridley is a Plastic Surgeon who has a huge heart and works in Beverly Hills in order to do humanitarian aid in a 3rd world country. She meets someone who on the surface isn't who he really is. They work through some misconceptions and come to a friendly understanding. Again the young woman is a strong person who is happy with who she is.The third story Dreams Come True deals with parental abuse and abandonment. Reagan is the events coordinator at the Mariposa and also a strong character. She meets a film producer who she assumes is a jerk but finds out how wrong she is. The story touches on parental abuse and neglect. But it is also sweet and fun.It was a fun quick clean read!! Great job ladies I can't wait to read the next one.

It was all very well written with great characters that were so fun to follow. I actually read this all in one day as I couldn't put it down. It had humor, clean romance and all in a great and beautiful location. I enjoyed all 3 writers in this 3 part novel. I just wish I could go visit the old wishing well and toss in a coin!

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Though I really liked the story By Dawn Yacovetta I want to start by saying that I received a copy of the ARC for an honest review. Though I really liked the story, I didn't like the way it was written.I loved the story from the very beginning. I really wanted to see which direction the Riley would take regardless of whether she got involved with Jensen or not. I think, there were several areas that gave us detailed ideas of what PTSD involves and how the psychiatric society sees it along with the legal system. It was great to see not only the attorney overcome her old life and stand up to her family. And, it was an adventure seeing how Jensen would overcome the difficulties he had in his life. PTSD has a terrible stigma attached to it, and we see how difficult it is for servicemen and women find it to ask for help because of that stigma. In that sense, the story was a real eye opener.However, I found the writing style to be rather juvenile and contrived. First of all, there was nothing subtle about it. I understand sexual attraction, but it thought, the writing was just too blatant. I don't mind sex in books and have a few erotica authors whose books I truly enjoy. I didn't find the sexual thought process believable.One of my pet peeves is when a male character sounds too feminine. I could tell, through the entire writing, that this book was written by a woman. Jensen didn't sound as male and tough as he needed to sound. It was really rather heartbreaking, because the story behind the characters had a wonderful premise.I see a lot of potential in this writer. She has some great ideas. I just think, this needed more work.

Riley was engaged to someone else when she first ste eyes on Jensen. She was on her way to make partnership in her law firm. Her well laid out plan for life started crumbling.Jensen has a temper and image of a bad boy. He is in legal trouble for beating up a guy that was hitting his mother. He was in lock up when he first seen her. After firing his lawyer he was not happy with being paired up with Riley.As they worked on his case they couldn't fight the attraction. Read this good book to find out what happened between them and his case. It is hot hot hot!!

By XJerseyGirl I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I really wanted to like this book because the storyline had great potential and the first chapter drew me in. Riley, our heroine, is a self-proclaimed legal go-getter on the fast track to becoming a partner at a major law firm. Looking for pro bono work to help nail that partnership, she comes across as snobby and superior when when she sees the jailed military veterans with whom she'd be working.This could have been a very interesting story but it hits on every cliche in the romance genre. Instant lust between hero and heroine. Then we find out she has an overbearing family, complete with snotty younger sister. AND an overbearing boss and a dweeb fiance who just happens to be the boss's son. They all browbeat her and she stands up to no one.Jensen isn't much better. He's in lust as well. It only gets interesting when he talks with his lawyer about not using a PTSD defense to his asault and battery trial. My favorite part is where the assistant DA describes Jensen's crime. "He mercifully pummeled an innocent man." Mercifully? I don't think I was supposed to laugh out loud, but I did. The first half of the story does no favors for anyone with PTSD as Jensen states long, loud and often that he doesn't want to be labeled as "crazy". Jensen throws temper tantrums and stomps off the job as a civilian contractor instructing military in para-rescue ops, leaving his men out in the field. As another reviewer stated, It's apparent that the story was written by a female. Jensen doesn't come across as the hot, macho guy he's supposed to be.The storytelling comes across as juvenile and made me wonder about the age and experience of the writer. If you aren't familiar with the topic you're wiriting about, don't try to fake it. Do a little research to give the story the ring of truth. Show, don't just tell. Almost the entire story is told through their thoughts ... pages and pages of thinking. Sadly, what could have been a great story came across as flat and unexciting.

By Carol S Maggie is a curvy, beautiful ER nurse who had a couple dates previously with her brother's friend Declan but he seemed to lose interest and they stopped dating. When they meet again, Declan realizes that they had a misunderstanding and he should have pursued her before instead of letting her go. Declan has been a player for a long time so Maggie is reluctant to reveal her true feelings to him. Meanwhile, Declan wants to spend all his time with her.Their relationship begins to sizzle and then Maggie finds herself framed for theft at the hospital where she works. She asks Declan to help her as he is a very successful lawyer. But Declan wants to reignite their relationship as well. As things heat up, Declan figures out who is framing her but wants the suspect to come forward to clear Maggie.Characters are well developed and the hero and heroine are very likeable, Maggie's friends are very supportive, and her boss and her ex-boyfriend became very unlikeable as the story continued.Waiting impatiently for Part 3 to find out what will happen......

Ready for book #3 By Nikki Brackett I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.Declan and Maggie keep getting hotter and hotter. The chemistry they have is explosive. The feelings they have had for each for so long have finally begun to get to both of them. It's going to take alot for Maggie to regain her trust for Declan after his past now making it worse the text an her brother's secret. It's going to crush Maggie... I just hope she can see that regardless Declan loves her and with him bringing her brother down regardless of their friendship just goes to show how much he does love her... It's his best friend is going to have to turn in...This series is an exciting, steamy and suspenseful must read but you need to read book #1 to get the whole story and understand.Can't wait for part 3 to see what happens when she gets the news that will knock her to the ground.

Once I got to know the characters, I found I couldn’t put it down. It’s a pretty accurate depiction of what happens when your parent becomes your child. It is something none of us can prepare for. For a person like Deb, who has never had children, it can be overwhelming. Ms. Head adeptly fleshes out her disparate characters, makes you fall in love with them, root for them, cry with them, and takes you on a journey that is profound. It is at times painful, funny, and completely fascinating. It begs a sequel. I cannot wait to read it.

The construction of the book is brilliant and is amazingly written By Kelley Jones The construction of the book is brilliant and is amazingly written. The author knows how to captivate the reader , yet realizes that as a caregiver you do not have hours to sit and read one chapter. She was able to capture the real life struggles of becoming the parent of the parent , the difficult choices that have to be made and the heart it takes to overcome the obstacles. This is by far a heartfelt read. Even though I have finished the book, I still find myself thinking about situations that were written.. I would recommend this to anyone that may be faced with a similar situation.
