About the Author Dr. Shelly Cameron is founder and managing Principal of Cameron Calder & Associates. She was born in Kingston, Jamaica and is a seasoned business consultant. She specializes in the enhancement of performance management through helping organizations align their strategies, processes and people. Dr. Cameron is especially skilled in the healthcare industry, where she has worked for over 20 years, including 14 years as Head of Human Resources for countries in the Northern Caribbean, with leadership in the Latin America region for the International Pharmaceutical giant, GlaxoSmithKline. She directed Leadership and Change Management initiatives during several international mergers, which culminated into the coveted Employer of Choice Award. She also managed strategic initiatives of medical clinics across South Florida. Dr. Cameron holds Doctorate in Education, major in Organizational Leadership, Masters in Healthcare Administration, Master of Science in Human Resource Management, and Bachelors in Management Studies. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and the Hospitality Human Resource Association (HHRABC). I think this is a must read for anyone looking to move ahead but searching for some support to visualize their dream. The real life stories brings you to that "aha" moment and causes you to pause, reflect and say "I can achieve that too". Using direct quotes and thoughts from successful Caribbean American leaders is powerful, because different things will speak to different people. This is the type of book that you read over and over again; each time getting another precious nugget to put you on the path to defining and crafting your own success strategy.
