By Elizabeth Courtright I bought the first book in this series - Casting the First Stone, and enjoyed it so much I had to get this one right away. The characters drew me in so well, I just had to find out what happened next. This author has a way of making her characters come alive. I've very glad I read this. It's uplifting, suspenseful and thought provoking all in one. It's been several weeks since I read both of these books, and I still remember the storyline and characters very well--a sign of superior writing!

7 of 8 people found the following review helpful. Amazingly Funny, great read By BeccaStone If you haven't read the Shopping for a Billionaire series yet, you must. These are excellent books that leave you laughing within pages of the start of the book. Ms. Kent did NOT let us down. This is another excellent books but this time it's from Declan's perspective.I love Shannon and Declan's story and in this book Declan proposes to Shannon. Based on the prior books if you read them, you know if something can go wrong it will and this is no different. I work part-time at a call center and I was reading this book during slow times and the looks I got were just crazy. I can't blame people, I just couldn't stop laughing. What I liked most about this book is that we get to see how much Declan truly loves Shannon and it's so sweet and heart warming. We can't leave out Marie and all the other Jacoby's, this family is nuts but it only makes things more interesting. We also get to get a glimpse, if only tiny into the possibility of Amanda and Andrew.I LOVE LOVE LOVE these books and I hope we get at least one more with a little bit of momzilla on the side. I am excited to read Shopping for a CEO being released later this year. Again, if you haven't read these books yet go get them. You have a few days to read them before this is released on February 26th. Oh, if you didn't guess already it gets 5 stars. beccareview.com

6 of 7 people found the following review helpful. Just wonderful!!!! By A. J. Powers I loved this book, I love Shannon and, they are one of the sweetest couples. This book is so fun, there are so many times when I am laughing out loud. I love when Declan refers to his one-eyed trouser snake, when he talks about red garters and how they control men by hormones, Pavlos's bell in lingerie form, the whole talk Declan has with his nephews about poop, I just kept laughing. I have always loved how much Declan loves Shannon and it just shows even more in this book. I liked reading about Andrew and Amanda and hope to read about them more in the future. The whole time Declan visits his mother's grave tears are running down my face and I like how he finally bonds a little with Marie and then Marie really lets his father have it about how he treated Declan when he was younger. What Shannon does to calm Declan's father down was so unexpected and it was hilarious, and then to do the same thing to Declan another time was perfect. I love the relationship between Declan and Andrew, and there is a part in the book where Andrew is telling Declan to put his junk away, that is all I am going to say about that because some really fun things happen in this scene. I was thrilled with Declan setting up the perfect proposal but what happens was so typical for them, they have the worst luck at times. Then just as I am settling back and reading the epilogue smiling because I love how this is ending something happens that gets my heart racing and I am sitting there with my mouth wide open, and then I just laugh and keep laughing. I can't wait to read the next book about them, wonder if it will be called Shopping for a Billionaire's Wife??? I hope a book like this is coming.

By jbebout1295 Just when I thought I could not possibly love Declan any more than I already did, Julia Kent writes this book and proves me wrong. I swear this almost billionaire is a man among men. I always knew he was a great guy, but having this book written from his point of view has added so many layers to this already fascinating character. You can see that he really loves Shannon to the very core of his soul, and it’s beyond interesting to watch how that love can bring a strong, confident, alpha male like Declan to his knees. It’s absolutely adorable how he gets so nervous he’s actually almost physically ill before his proposal. It’s so un-Declan. His character has grown so much since we first met him... going from a self-centered womanizer to a man who really knows how to love a woman and make her his priority in life. Shannon is one lucky woman! And we are really lucky as readers that Julia Kent has brought us this continuation of Shannon and Declan’s love story. If you haven’t read the rest of the Shopping for a Billionaire series, do so now... immediately, if not sooner. In this book, Julia has given us a read that is sweet, sexy, funny, enticing, intriguing, and all around incredible. I would say she’s definitely got another huge hit on her hands. I can’t wait for Andrew and Amanda’s book! There’s definitely a story there.* I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

A Brilliant Introduction to a Brilliant Thinker By Dr. Tony Kashani Many years ago I read a book by Giroux titled, Teachers as Intellectuals, which transformed the ways in which I had been thinking about pedagogy. This was back in the late 80s. Over the years, as I continued reading Giroux's books--he is prolific-- I acquired a language to understand some of the most complex social, political, and cultural ideas we face in modern times. His language is intellectaul and at once quite accessible. Giroux writes with clarity and incredible insight. I consider this "reader" an excellent introduction to many theories that Giroux has produced, which are uniquely relevant to our lives. This is a must read and it will make you want to read his other books. He has an uncanny ability to cross traditional theoretical boundaries and create tools for better teaching, thinking, and acting to make this world a better place.Truly inspiring and absolutely necessary!

Opening doors to critical engagement with society By Adam Fletcher Giroux is renowned for his analysis of society, particularly focusing on youth, commercialism, and hypocrisy. This collection of Giroux's writing illustrates the breadth and depth of his analysis in all those areas, and more. I learned about neoliberalism and the corporate grip on American youth; the societal abandonment of youth and the social divestment in the future, and; the wholesale disenfranchisement of the American public in the face of capitalistic greed and personal opportunism. Giroux is like the town crier challenging us to get out of bed to go fight the fire on "that" side of town. If we don't it'll burn our house down - oh, wait - it already is.

I got the book since I read the original book some days ago and some parts I didn't understand really well so I just wanted a way to discover some parts of the book I was not clear about but after reading this summary book I know a lot of details about this great story between Christian and Anastasia.

Many reviewers question the validity of the "5 minute" claim -- kind of like losing weight with a minute of exercise and no diet. But there's a big difference. First, much research is proving that pre-school and early elementary age children can learn to read independently with even the most minimal structure. But this is hardly structure-free. This is the primer, if you will, that's so sorely needed at that age. Children need our help unlocking the code. And this book does that perfectly. Immerse your child with good, twaddle-free books, and use this as the text by which they put it all together. Well done Blue Manor!

Reminds me of the McGuffy readers By Christopher Ormond Reading the title I was skeptical, can 5 minutes a day really be enough to teach a strong phonics foundation? As I looked through the book I was reminded of the McGuffy readers. I don't think that this can completely stand alone, or truly teach a child to read in only 5 minutes, but in conjunction with lots of reading aloud and authentic literacy activities throughout the day (rhyming, singing, pointing out and noticing letters/sounds etc) I think that this would be helpful in structuring phonics lessons in an easy way for parents to help their child gain basic phonics skills.*I received a copy of this book to read and review with my honest review, I was not compensated beyond being given a copy of this book, this is my honest thoughts on the book.*
