She has a job in a club as a promoter and spends her time flirting with men and women to keep them coming to the business. She used to be more of a nerd and didn't get much attention from guys so she revels in the attention. The one thing she doesn't do much is invite the men into her bed. She is very choosy. She has some good guy friends and one of them has a girlfriend who works at a tattoo shop where she goes for her first one.Fitz is the tattoo artist who encourages her to find something meaningful to use as a design. He also attracts her attention like no one else. She makes advances she usually would not and it scares her how much she wants him again. He is a pretty quiet guy who is looking for something more than the next party. He is also surprised by the strong attraction. The intensity gets really interesting when she discovers his mom is her step-mother. There is a lot of pressure to end it.I enjoyed the story. Fitz is not the usual alpha male and I enjoyed that change. He is a quieter guy who takes time to think thru things. He is very open and honest about his past relationships and doesn't have anything to prove to anyone. She is more of the pursuer and that was also nice as a change. Becka is starting to make the changes she needs in order to really become happy. She doesn't tend to let people in and her feelings for Fitz are a real new experience for her.I received a copy in return for a honest review.

I have such a huge love for stepbrother books and I have to say this one is not only touching but hot.Becka Treadway was this nerdy girl that was trying to leave the nerdy side behind her. She was now a PR rep for one of the hottest clubs called Lux. She had the prefect body and was drop down gorgeous and she new it. Thing about Becka is that she did not get with a lot of guys. Flirting and a few drinks is about as far as men would get. She had trust issues and did not do love.Fitz was a handsome tattoo artist. He was taken back by this bomb shell that came in for a tat. He knew that the tat she wanted was not for her. It takes a lot of trust tin the artist to let them pick a tat and design it for you. It was like Fitz could look right into her soul and knew what she would love.There was chemistry right off the bat between Fitz and Becka. They truly are a lot a like. Both have trust issues, both are lonely, and both fill empty. I found this story interesting . After realizing they were step siblings it was the girl that chased the guy. Becka knew what she wanted. She was not going to give up so early. Fitz might run but he will not run to far.I just loved this story from beginning to end. Honestly I have not read a book by Emma that I have not loved. She has some amazing talent when it comes to writing.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Loved it!!! By addicted to books! I received this book as an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick read with good character descriptions, real story plot, a HEA, and NO CLIFFHANGERS! Everything I look for in a Saturday morning! At first, I was a little put-off by Becka's narcissistic self-perception, but soon realized it was a facade to make herself feel better about herself. I loved Fritz's more mature, self-controlled demeanor and knew that he had the right stuff to be book boyfriend material. I was right! The romance, conflict and resolution DID NOT disappoint! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the same sexy, romantic, even taboo-ish stories that I do. GREAT JOB!! Kudos to Ms. Fawkes on a job well done! I'm looking forward to more of her books!!
